Designed by Yoko Nakamoto, packaging for Toraya Tokyo. 2014
Ink drawings of animals and Japanese calligraphy adorn simple packaging, which in this example, is only emphasized by the bright yellow paper. This charming and readable design is one of many markers that Japan's graphic design vision was switching to value the aesthetic of simplicity rather than visual extremism when designing for the consumer market.
